About the Male language

Male, also known as Maale, is a language of Ethiopia with over 100,000 users in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ region: north Omo zone, southeast of Jinka.

It has no known dialectsand has a substantial lexical similarity with Dorze, Gofa, Koorete, Gamo, Wolaytta and Dawro.

There is church-based literacy classes are ongoing.
